I'll second the report on ac22-riel problems: I just had two hangs
within 15 minutes after bootup (fsck takes 10+ minutes).

Linux oestergaard 2.4.0-test1-ac22 #1 SMP Wed Jun 21 01:36:54 CEST 2000 i686 unknown
Kernel modules 2.1.121
Gnu C 2.95.1
Binutils 2.9.5.0.16
Linux C Library 2.1.1
Dynamic linker ldd (GNU libc) 2.1.1
Procps 2.0.6
Mount 2.9
Net-tools 1.50
Console-tools 1999.03.02
Sh-utils 1.16
Modules Loaded 3c59x

The root filesystem is on Software RAID-5 on four SCSI disks (aic7xxx). There
are no IDE disks in the system.

I had more than two weeks of uptime with -ac4 (no crashes at all), and I've had
some days of uptime with -ac21 (no crashes either).

It's my home system so I mainly do mutt/netscape/mozilla and heavy
compilations.

-ac22 will die horribly if I run a disk benchmark on the RAID (tiotest). It
dies with interrupts _enabled_ though, and I can still ping the system from the
network. Keyboard is unresponsive (in X), mouse likewise, system is dead
except for the network layers it seems. The fact that there's nothing in the
logs probably indicate that _most_ of the kernel hangs somewhere.

I'm of to work for now, but I'll be happy to try out patches/whatever later
on. If nothing else comes up, I'll try the Andrea-variant of -ac22 and see
if I have better luck there.
