Yes back a while ago I got sick of using serial mice and tieing up a com
port. My motherboard supported PS/2 directly so I wanted to get a good
PS/2 mouse.

I *HATE* the egonomically shaped mice like the logitech series and
MouseSystems was rumored to make good mice. So much to my suprise I
found (at Fry's no less) the MouseSystems PS/2 mouse!! (oh, I also don't
like using adapters and such, it just bugs my perfectionist nature)

But when I plugged my new MouseSystems PS/2 mouse in it produced
"erractic behavior". it essentially acted like I had specified
MouseSystems protocol but was using a MS-DOS mouse (or vice-versa).
Cursor just jumped everywhere.

I did specify PS/2 mouse and I was using a PS/2 mouse. Why didn't it
work??

My best guess is that the MouseSystems PS/2 protocol is somehow
different from the standard PS/2 protocol. Is this correct?

Why hasn't Linux supported this MouseSystems PS/2 mouse yet? Is it a
matter of MouseSystems not releasing the specs??

Anyways, any information you can offer on the subject would be
appreciated since this has bothered me for the last year since I got the
mouse (which now sits in my closet).
