What speed is the ram in your work system? It must be 60ns to work with a
66MHz pentium reliably. That would explain your NULLs.

For the other problem, has the generic SCSI layer changed since the release
of 1.3.59? It sounds like Linux is sufferring from the "retry a command
immediately after target busy" syndrom that will kill almost any periferal
that returns a busy status. Why the device returns busy status is hard to
say. Can you tell us the devices attached to the SCSI bus?
