It's a bug in the popper from Qualcomm. It mixes use of stdio and read/write
and gets it wrong. The bug occurs when a user receives mail while reading
mail with POP.

I sent a fix to qualcomm ages ago. Make sure you're running the latest version
and complain to qualcomm if they didn't install my fix.
