You might try first try e2fsrogs-1.18's fsck(8), it chatches (and
deletes/cleans flags) on severely broken filesystems better than before.

Use debugfs(8) or some such. First unmount the partition (or remount
(mount(8)) read-only, at least), run debugfs on it and rm the files. Then
run fsck(8) with -f on it for good luck. Be _extremely_ careful.

This looks like rather massive screwup of the filesystem. What kernel are
you running, on what CPU? Compiled 2.3.x on i686 with egcs-1.1.2 or
gcc-2.95.2, by any chance?

I'd consider reinstalling (or at least "refreshing") your installation.
