[linux 2.3.34pre2, modutils 2.3.8-1, binutils-2.9.5.0.22 on Red Hat 6.1 here]
And ppa (Zip via parallel port) hangs too:
> [vonbrand@sleipnir vonbrand]$ /sbin/lsmod
Module Size Used by
ppa 9532 (initializing)
sd_mod 10412 (initializing)
scsi_mod 64540 0 (autoclean) [ppa sd_mod]
At the end of /var/log/messages:
Dec 20 00:49:53 sleipnir kernel: ppa: Version 2.03 (for Linux 2.2.x)
Dec 20 00:49:53 sleipnir kernel: ppa: Found device at ID 6, Attempting to use EPP 32 bit
Dec 20 00:49:53 sleipnir kernel: ppa: Found device at ID 6, Attempting to use PS/2
Dec 20 00:49:53 sleipnir kernel: ppa: Communication established with ID 6 using PS/2
Dec 20 00:49:53 sleipnir kernel: scsi0 : Iomega VPI0 (ppa) interface
Dec 20 00:49:53 sleipnir kernel: scsi : 1 host.
Note that I'm printing through the very same parport (I had loaded the lp
module before).
Somebody else reported this here too, so I'd blame SCSI.
