I just fixed this. it's due raid colliding with 2.2.14pre12.

Apply this patch on the top of your current tree:

ftp://ftp.*.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/andrea/patches/v2.2/2.2.14pre11/set_blocksize-1-raid0145-19990824-2.2.11.gz
