Did you ever submit it for inclusion to kernel?
Please, consider. At least, it will stimulate its tuning
to kernel standards.
BTW did you ever try to teach it to make a flow control?

Consider that "dev->slave" field does not exist more 8)
And restore it with correct name i.e. dev->master. 8)
