Linux on Laptop 2.1.131-ac11 - garbage on boot

Hello to all,

my brandnew laptop "Highscreen Advance III" (vendor Vobis)
boots with 2.1.131-ac11 and then gets a colourful LCD-Display.
This happens directly after boot (Uncompressing ...).
There are two or three more messages, but the following garbage comes
too fast.

There was a hint in the newsgroup abous an IBM Thinkpad which needed
an assembler patch on boot time -- does that happen here, too ?

The same configuration runs fine with 2.0.33 (Suse 5.2).
Other kernels I didn't test yet.

.config is available on request, APM is disabled.

BTW : Does anybody know the correct settings for hsync/vsync with
XFree 3.3.3 ? The "technicians" there said "1024 by 768" 8-))).

Thanks for any hint

Frank Bernard
