I wasn't laughing, when I had to use the poxy thing.

I was using a Spanish version of Office, stuck in a hotel without anyone to
translate for me, and I hadn't used Excel macros for years.

Luckily I had the English version on CD with me - I tried 'export LANG=en_UK'
but it didn't make any difference.

In fact, I spent hours trying to set the language of NT to be English, before
realising that it's a completely different program.
