I also think that an IDE rescan facility would be nifty.
Reason? I've got a laptop with a removable CDROM and an APM sleep
facility. If I boot the laptop without the CDROM, put it to sleep,
insert the CDROM, then bring the laptop back up, the CDROM isn't
recognized, which is of course pretty lame.
