console corruption in 2.1.125 after exiting X

Hi!

I've just upgraded from 2.0.35 to 2.1.125 today, and everything
seems fine, aside from the console becoming corrupted when I exit
from X (the console is not reset with /usr/bin/reset).

SuperProbe reports:

First video: Super-VGA
Chipset: Avance Logic 2228 (Port Probed)
Memory: 1024 Kbytes
RAMDAC: AcuMos ADAC1 15/16/24-bit DAC
(with 6-bit wide lookup tables (or in 6-bit mode))

and I'm using XFree86-SVGA-3.3.2-13 (X server from an update to
Red Hat 5.1) in 8-bit mode. The kernel was compiled with
CONFIG_VGA_CONSOLE=y.

I've checked in Documentation/Changes and an archive of this mailing
list, but couldn't find any help.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks very much!
