Not useful at all with ppp-2.3.3+, I bet that A.A. is using ppp-2.3.[34]
and it seems that 'linux-2.1.100' breaks RH5 'uname()' library function
resulting in funny things.

Solutions:
1- redefine SUBLEVEL=99 in Makefile (I did this one)
2- fix the uname library function in glibc-xxx
3- recompile pppd taking off these run time checks for the
kernel version.

P.S. this breakage of 'uname()' maybe breaks many other utilities...
