I was able to freeze an ULTRIX machine by logging in to it and
opening up an X window to be displayed on a local linux box. I
remember that there was a similar program in some of the early 2.1
(20?) kernels that was later fixed.

If it's locking up the Ultrix machine, wouldn't it be that Ultrix is
what needs to be fixed?
