I successfully complied 2.1.91 and installed it on my machine today and
when I went to reboot from 2.1.90 alot of processes, including klogd, lpd,
and named, had died. I dug a bit deeper and when I rebooted into 2.1.91
klogd had not started, no errors on bootup and nothing in the logs. I
started it by hand and got the following in /var/log/messages:

Mar 27 19:07:24 edison kernel: klogd 1.3-3, log source = /proc/kmsg
started.
Mar 27 19:07:25 edison kernel: Loaded 4798 symbols from /boot/System.map.
Mar 27 19:07:25 edison kernel: Symbols match kernel version 2.1.91.
Mar 27 19:07:25 edison kernel: Error seeking in /dev/kmem
Mar 27 19:07:25 edison kernel: Error adding kernel module table entry.

But klogd started and is still running about 30 mins later. As is lpd,
named and all of the other proccess I start at bootup. I will check every
hour to see if anything has died and let you know if it does.

I am running RedHat 5.0 with ALL updates.

Any pointers would be useful.
