Got as far as compiling .../fs/proc/inode.c and seems to go no further but
the disk activity is nearly continous.
I just got the following to the screen:
INIT: PANIC: segmentation violation! giving up..
but no further information.
A ctrl-scrolllock shows it is stuck in kswapd
Just switched to another VT. Logon is EXCRUCIATINGLY SLOW with maybe one
character every 5 seconds appearing on the screen.
Just got another segmentation violation when I tried to suspend the
compile with crtl-z
I have still not got a password prompt from the login attempt on the other
VT though it did finally echo the username.
I will let it run a little longer and see if I can "break it loose" by
banging on a network service or something. Will look for any log entries
as soon as I can.
