Hi Albert.

>>> GGI Project Unhappy On Linux!

Most of this, I can't comment on, but there's a few points I can
make...

1. I provide a UK mirror for GGI, so anybody this side of the pond
wishing to have a look at it can. URL is:

ftp://ftp.mirrors.ml.org/mirrors/Synergy/GGI/

Alternatively, he may not be able to get hold of anything else. A
friend of mine on the African continent reports that the ONLY
video cards generally available are Trident cards, so shit or
otherwise, they have to use them...

Six of my last seven video cards provided native VESA support
without any driver being loaded, so I'd have to consider that a
very weak excuse that doesn't bear up to even the flimsiest
scrutiny...

Before you ask, one of them was a Trident card with native VESA
support, another was a different model of Trident card, and was
the only one without VESA support, and the reason for the changes
is that I had to recommend a video card for a large contract for
one of the local computer emporiums, so they let me try out all
seven models they had in stock at the time, and VESA support was
one thing I specifically checked for. The best of those seven is
is my computer.

Apart from the above three points, I have no problem accepting
your arguments, and I'm quite willing to continue mirroring GGI as
at present, so don't worry about that.

Best wishes from Riley.
