More NFS misbehavior

All,

It happened again, and this time I lost data..

This morning, I downloaded a file from the net into my personal directory
on the NFS client machine. Next, from the client I used Midnight
Commander to "move" the file to an archive area on the knfs server.
This operation involved overwriting an older file of the same name, BTW.
MC _thought_ that the copy went correctly and, receiving a successful status
on the close() operation, deleted the original.

Unfortunately, the target machine held only a zero-length file when all
was said and done. Ugh.

Once again, no log messages on either end. This time, the client was
running kernel 2.1.86 and the server had 2.1.89.

I'm dropping back to 2.1.86 on the server side, but it would be nice to
find out what's amiss, no?

Steve
