Hi!

I've a small problem with the aic7xxx driver, compiled with the following
options on a dual Pentium (Tyan Tomcat II, 64MB, 2*P100, HX Chipset/Adaptec
2940U, 7881U) system using a SMP kernel version 2.1.86 (2.1.87 has some
"oops" problems: I've the same problems as mentioned on the list):

python:~>cat /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/0
Adaptec AIC7xxx driver version: 4.1/3.2
Compile Options:
AIC7XXX_RESET_DELAY : 15
AIC7XXX_CMDS_PER_LUN : 8
AIC7XXX_TAGGED_QUEUEING: Enabled
AIC7XXX_PAGE_ENABLE : Disabled
AIC7XXX_PROC_STATS : Disabled

Normal use works great, but sometimes the scsi controller 'hangs' for no
special reason. This happens preferably during fsck at boot time or after
login with kdm (=heavy disc activity). The SCSI controller LED goes off and
all disc activity stops. After the 'hang' the keyboard and mouse is still
active and responsive and console switching works normal. Sometimes the
system crashes completly after about 10 keypresses or moving the mouse a
little bit. Unfortunatly there is no log on the console or on my loghost.

Regards

Carsten
