I will say this one last time:

IF I GET ANY MORE GRIEF ABOUT .bz2 FILES I'M REMOVING THEM FROM THE
ARCHIVE! I added .bz2 files because I thought it would be a
low-overhead additional service, but the amount of whining that has
resulted has gotten really annoying.

The .bz2 files are generated automatically with a sweeper script that
runs hourly, whereas the announcements are close to immediate. At
this point I don't want to advertise them further because of the
quantity of "what's a .bz2 file" mail I get, and the bzip2 author's
refusal to set up an FTP archive so I can mirror it.
