It is indeed ugly.

Those letters are hard to remember. I can refer to /dev/0-0-1-0-2
by visualizing the hierarchy of physical connections in my head.
I'd have to actually look in /dev to remember the letters, since
I don't adjust mount points often enough to memorize them.
