Dunno what's different, but the same thing happened to me. However, it's
easy to fix. The "spd_vhi" stuff in setserial is really pretty outdated
anyway... you don't need it. I changed mine to "spd_normal" when it inits
the ports, then I use 115200 in my ppp options file. I am back to high
speed connections.
