MAJOR memory leak in 2.0.31-pre9

There seems to be a MAJOR memory leak in linux-2.0.31-pre9. I put it on
my news server, and now it is missing ~80MB! The sum of the SIZE column
from 'ps max' is 79672, and 'free' reports:
