2.1.46 sudden reboot (reproduceable)

Hi,

i just did the following on 2.1.46:
(kids, don't try this at home)

cd /tmp
ln -s foo bar
ln -s bar foo
cat foo # or bar you decide

The system rebooted immediately. I have no clue where to look at due to the
missing kernel messages in the log.
