I have an interesting problem with gdb, triyng to run/debug trivial
programs :

int a;
[Alice]:ruslan:~ # gdb a.static.out
GDB is free software and you are welcome to distribute copies of it
under certain conditions; type "show copying" to see the conditions.
There is absolutely no warranty for GDB; type "show warranty" for details.
GDB 4.16 (i586-unknown-linux), Copyright 1996 Free Software Foundation,
(gdb) r
Starting program: /home/ruslan/a.static.out

Program received signal SIGTRAP, Trace/breakpoint trap.
0x8048090 in ___crt_dummy__ ()

Trying to figure out the point i changed all possible software
configurations, including stable ones.

So ,I have a question to the list - may be this be hardware related ?
All the parts of the Linux works good on this hardware. Kernel recompiles
and run fine, didn't ever recieve any sig11 while compiling.

Asus P/I-P55T2P4/AMD K5-100/32 Mb EDO RAM
Linux kernel [2.0 - 2.1.43]
GNU ld version 2.8.1 (with BFD linux-
gcc snapshot 970522
gdb [4.15,4.16]

P.S. If needed I can send any additional information.
