question on kmem

Hello. I am working on a swapper project which will swap out a process
memory image from the main memory onto a file. I wonder is it possible i
can directly copy the image to the file from /dev/kmem or /dev/mem?? if
it is possible, then how can i do it? what do i need to know? what should
i do a book-keeping on?
