linux version codes

I'm working to get a common module for the msr driver.

Should there be defines for __LINUX__ = 2
and __LINUX_MINOR__ = 0 or 1
(like __GNUC__ or __GNUC_MINOR__)

I copied this from ntfs, and its
not very self explanatory (yeah, I understand but I had to copy it...):
#if (LINUX_VERSION_CODE > (2* 65536 + 256))
#include <asm/uaccess.h>
#endif

(I suppose the LINUX_VERSION_CODE is __LINUX__*65536 + __LINUX_MINOR__ * 256)

Or the other way (derive major/minor numbers of the version code)
