The pre-2.0.30 patches aren't stepups. You hafta do patch -R with the
original patch to reverse the stuff it did, then patch with the new patch.
That's what I did on the Linux server I run, and both patches went clean -
no .rej's.

Might also want to -R that patch and reapply it after patching with
pre-2.0.30. If you have the original source, you might do well, to just
copy out your .config and extract the original source package, then patch
up as needed.
