Well wouldn't you know after i posted a request for help pulling
IPaddresses from wtmp instead of the partial host names
man wtmp pointed me to the structure of wtmp and basically
after the 16 character hostname field is the IPaddress which is in HEX
so simple doing ...

host 0xcd.0xf7.0x96.0xcd
Name: gf-dialup-12.global2000.net
Address: 205.247.150.205

this is what i needed :-)

now to talk to global2000.net
