Is it correct that sys_modify_ldt will create a new LDT that is zeroed
when writing an entry the first time? Wouldn't it make more sense to
initialize the new LDT to be identical to the default LDT?

ie. after the sys_modify_ldt call, you have a very useless LDT that
will fault(?) or do something nasty(?)

Please let me know if I am missing something here (very likely).

Thanks.
