Everybody. Please. Stop it. We've been over this `elf is slower'
`not detectably so' `I can detect it' `it's probably a setup
difference' argument a billion times already since September 1994
(yes, 1994) and NOTHING HAS EVER COME OF IT ON _ANY_ PREVIOUS
OCCASION.

Even if this time it has any chance of doing anything (someone care to
do some coding on gcc to improve its PIC performance? thought not),
it's _not_ kernel-related, and vger has enough trouble keeping up with
the flood of `1.3.xx breaks ps -u' and `qp is (not) good' messages
anyway. If you want to enact the elf war again, take it to usenet
or to private email.

If you're anti-elf on speed or aesthetics or backward compatibility or
hassle grounds, you have my sympathies. If you're pro-elf, shut up,
stop evangelising, they'll all have to come round anyway if they want
to play Linux Quake or run the Java port. They'll learn ;-)

Thank you for your attention.

Daniel
