a.out vs. ELF speed (WAS Re: Will a.out disappear?)

That's no problem. My next concern: what is the speed differential
between a.out and ELF? On my box, speed is at a premimum, unfortunately,
and I don't have the funds available to upgrade right now. So you can
understand that I won't upgrade to ELF if there's a major differential in
speed.
Any comments?
