I wonder if you could send this to the kernel mail list for me. I read
it via the web page since I am a beginner...

I use a 1.3 kernel and am a Linux beginner. Please do not add anything to
the run time side that will cause any sort of pain. A warning at
make time would be OK. BTW I use the new kernel since it supports
my hardware layout - 1.2.13 does not. I also understand what beta
means but so far the 1.3.57-68 kernels have worked for me.
