If you're looking for stability, I suggest sticking with 1.2.13.
However, if you really need to use a 1.3.x for a new feature or device
driver, I found 1.3.45 and 1.3.57 to be quite stable for me. As of this
writing, the latest kernel is 1.3.68, which does have a few 1.3.6x bugs
fixed. Plus, the loop device is pretty cool.
