more about sockets on localhost

On a lark I decided to try something differant. irc servers can be setup
to use a unix domain socket, and irc clients can be made to connect to
them. Lo and behold the client will connect to this. But not a localhost
port.
As for my random Sig 11's I found that by disabling my 256k of pipeline
burst cache no more Sig 11's. So I guess I'll be sending this board back.
Not much sense in running a system without external cache.
