I don't think the newer code is going to help you. I don't have it with me
now, but could probably send it to you later tonight. I was thinking that
there was might have been a change to the aic7xxx driver sometime after
1.3.49 - like a patch to make it return a different value on a detected
error condition or an automatic sense retrieval - and that this wasn't incorporated
into the latest driver. We need to go over the patches from 1.3.50 to 1.3.63
to see if there were any changes to any of the aic7xxx files.
