Hopefully some of these network problems will disappear before we call it
stable. I just patched upto 1.3.66 and still have trouble with
networking. Some people are reporting stable PPP connections while others
are reporting problems that might be due to SLIP/CSLIP problems. I still
have some problems though with just localhost stuff. I have a local ircd
setup on this system that will not ident a user on the local system. I am
still unable to telnet to remote hosts, although I can telnet to
localhost. If you need more info please ask, and specify what kind of
information you need in order to help solve this. I've recompiling some
of the networking utilities under the new kernel to make sure the proper
values are being used in defines and such. Oh a telnet to localhost 113
ident port works fine. Weird... cistron.nl ftp server is screwed up as
well. I can't imagine that he has 5 ftp's going on at the same time for
the last couple of days. I always get this error from that system since
about 1.3.62 but not prior to this. I also downloaded an entire new
kernel 1.3.63, because of some rejects I was getting on patching. So I
keep running .60 so I have some networking at least, even though the
swapping in that kernel is not quite upto par. By the way in case you
haven't heard this in awhile, keep up the good work :)
