I have a short howto that is under construction. I've already had
some feedback on it, but not enough (imho). Please feel free to check

It focuses mostly on the vendor branch problem, and things you need to
do to get the job done. There are two problems with using CVS. One
that I hit was the net/core not being imported, solved by cvsignore,
and the other is some symlinks that go missing, but I haven't seen
that so I'm not sure what that means yet. Please let me know any
other things that you notice in my howto. For the moment, I have a
restrictive distribution thing on it, but plan on reducing that
restriction to something acceptible to the community once it firms up.
