TCP/CSLIP >1.3.59 ?

Hi, linux-kernel Guru's

Am I the only one where TCP no longer works on kernels > 1.3.59
when used over (C)SLIP ?

The IP layer seems to work (ping, traceroute etc) fine, but I cannot
use ftp, telnet or NFS over my dialup-IP link (established with dip)
anymore with kernel versions 1.3.60, 1.3.61, 1.3.62, 1.3.63.

When connecting a remote system with e.g. telnet, I just get
Connected to <the.host.name>
_
and the cursor just site there, until the remote system times out,
then I get:
Connection closed by foreign host.

In the meantime, I can see some data is received though the
SLIP link (modem RD leds blink at intervals).
pinging the system in the meantime keeps working 100%..

Back to .59, everything's OK (actually I'm typing this message though
the SLIP link right now).
I've awaited a few kernel-releases before deciding to post, but since I
haven't read anything about this subject on the list, I decided to write
a message.

System: AMD 80486DX40 VLB
Slackware 3.0ELF
GCC 2.7.0

Has something basically changed since .59, do I need a newer version
of some tool, or is this really broken ?

Regards,
Eddy van Loo
