make config for sound suggestion

The "make config" gets very inconvenient when it comes to sound. For
everything else, you can at least use the old values from the last
make config. And if you mess up the sound config, you've messed up
everything, since 'make config' doesn't save it's state before called
the configure for sound.
Is anybody working on simplifying the sound config code, or config in
general? Can sound be a module?
