usbdux registers, but communcation to device times out

From: Melanie Dumas

Hello,

I am working with Fedora Core 2 and the regular (not fast) usbdux
controller. We recently upgraded our Dell 2650 machine from RH 9.0
(kernel 2.4) to Fedora Core 2, kernel 2.6.10-1.771_FC2smp. The usb-dux
controller worked great on our old kernel, but the new kernel has the
following problem.

We installed comedi and comedilib according to the instructions on
http://www.linux-usb-daq.co.uk/drivers2/2.6/. There were no errors on
installation, and the usbdux drivers were auto-detected by hotplug
when the usbdux controller was plugged in. We saw the message "kernel:
comedi0: usbdux: usb-device 0 is attached to comedi."

However, when we run the demo programs or our old programs, we always
get errno 110. The accompanying error message is something like
"kernel: comedi0: could not transmit dux_command to the usb-device",
or "kernel: usb1-1: lt-info timed out on ep4out". dmesg, lsmod, and
/proc/comedi output files are attached. I'm very confused, since the
device registered just fine with the usb-hotplug, so it must be
talking. Can someone please explain this error and offer suggestions
to resolve it?

comedi-0.7.69

Thanks in advance,
Melanie
