So it's not Reiserfs. My systems with similar setup run rock solid
since 2.2.15 final.

My SMP systems don't use ne2k compatible NICs so I can't confirm
this problem. But it probably doesn't have to do with Reiserfs.

You should upgrade to 2.2.15 final to get rid of the stuck on TLP IPI wait
problem completely.
