I do use a Matrox Mystique PCI!

Seems to be stable on 2.2.15pre19. I only get hangs when using bttv
driver.

Sometimes it is just X thats hung and I am able to recover sometimes the
whole
box is hung and I have to reset. May be more than one problem.

Yes, I agree this could be true. I am going back to XFree 3.3.6 now
to check it out.
