Hi,

while trying 2.3.99-pre6 I experienced a small problem
with my NIC, type see here:

3c59x.c:v0.99L+LK1.1.2+AKPM 24 Apr 2000 Donald Becker and others
http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/vortex.html
eth0: 3Com PCI 3c905 Boomerang 100baseTx at 0xdc80, 00:10:4b:4f:44:61,
IRQ 19
  8K word-wide RAM 3:5 Rx:Tx split, autoselect/MII interface.
MII transceiver found at address 24, status 786f.
Enabling bus-master transmits and whole-frame receives.

The problem is that when I boot up my system I fetch the current time
from a time server. The DNS resolveing which is done before that are the
first packets which are going out of my box after boot time.
These packets fail and the kernel log shows the following lines:

eth0: first avaialble mdeia type: MII
NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
eth0: transmit timed out, tx_status 00 status e000.
  Flags; bus-master 1, full 1; dirty 0 current 16.
  Transmit list 013a5200 vs. c13a5200.

  15: @c13a52f0 length 8000002a status 8000002a
eth0: Resetting the Tx ring pointer.

After this, the network driver works good as expected.
