Hi!

I hope that's a correct list to ask these kind of questions.
I have an i386 machine with 2 4Gb drives on different controllers
(hda and hdc) Both drives are used for mirrored volumes in the
following configuration:

    md0 : active raid1 hdc2[1] hda2[0] 522048 blocks [2/2] [UU]
    md1 : active raid1 hdc5[1] hda5[0] 787072 blocks [2/2] [UU]
    md2 : active raid1 hdc6[1] hda6[0] 1309184 blocks [2/2] [UU]

Whenever I have any disk activity the following messages appear
regulary:

    hda: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
    hda: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
    hdc: status timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
    hdc: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
    ide0: reset: success
    ide1: reset: success

No data corruption, but once in a while (say in 3..4 days) the machine
freezes due to ide hang. I was able to determine the reason, since when
first ide locked out, the system worked for some time on the remaining one
and managed to save kernel messages in the log

Has anybody encountered similar problem? How it can be cured?

The drives and ide controllers in question:

    SIS5513: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 09
    SIS5513: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
        ide0: BM-DMA at 0x4000-0x4007, BIOS settings: hda:pio, hdb:pio
        ide1: BM-DMA at 0x4008-0x400f, BIOS settings: hdc:pio, hdd:pio

    hda: ST34313A, ATA DISK drive
    hdb: QUANTUM FIREBALL CR4.3A, ATA DISK drive
    hdc: ST34313A, ATA DISK drive
    hdd: DELTA OPC-K101/ST1 F/W by OIPD, ATAPI CDROM drive
    ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
    ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15
    hda: ST34313A, 4112MB w/512kB Cache, CHS=524/255/63
    hdb: QUANTUM FIREBALL CR4.3A, 4110MB w/418kB Cache, CHS=524/255/63
    hdc: ST34313A, 4112MB w/512kB Cache, CHS=8912/15/63

(Yes, there's third drive, hdb, but it's not used at all)

Thanx,
