Yes, but are you running them in UDMA?

" hdparm -d1 -X66 -c1 /dev/hd[.] " for UDMA or
" hdparm -d1 -X34 -c1 /dev/hd[.] " for DMA

Sometimes, despite your kernel compile parameters, your drives will default
to PIO4 mode if the controller isn't in 100% native mode (as in my i440BX)
or somesuch.
