I have also a lockup problem that maybe has similarity with this...
HW: MB SOYO 6BA+IV (http://www.soyo.nl/product/6ba+iv.htm) with PIIX 2 x
Ultra/33 channels and HPT366 2 x Ultra/66, Quantum lct10 15, UDMA4 15GB
SW: RH6.2, 2.2.14+2.3.99pre5
I have ATAPI CD-ROM on hdc and the Quantum on hde.
On 2.3.99pre5 boot it recognizes the PIIX and the HPT366 ok, recognizes the
hdc SONY CDU311 and freezes and the disks LED is on all the time.
If I put bootparams ide=reverse, hda=1826,255,63 (the quantum), the
controllers are swapped, and I get oops, then register listing...
I also have another kernel 2.2.14 from the RH 6.2 distribution and I can
boot from hde with it when I put bootparams: ide2=0xd400,0xd802,
ide=noprobe.
Any ideas?
