stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)

I have a dual-processor P3-450 system using a SuperMicro P6DBE motherboard
with 256MB RAM, headless, running a RedHat 6.1 2.2.12-20 kernel that I
re-built:

Linux version 2.2.12-20smp (gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux
(egcs-1.1.2 release)) #1 SMP Tue Dec 14 19:33:35 EST 1999
Intel MultiProcessor Specification v1.4
    Virtual Wire compatibility mode.
OEM ID: INTEL Product ID: 440BX APIC at: 0xFEE00000
Processor #0 Pentium(tm) Pro APIC version 17
Processor #1 Pentium(tm) Pro APIC version 17
I/O APIC #2 Version 17 at 0xFEC00000.
Processors: 2
mapped APIC to ffffe000 (fee00000)
mapped IOAPIC to ffffd000 (fec00000)

Now, it is tossing errors that look like:

stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)
stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)

I have 2 other systems with identical setups that do not exhibit this
problem. The broken machine has been under no load, while the others
seem to hold up under fairly heavy load. Do I have a hardware problem, or
should I be looking for another culprit? (it has several fairly uncommon
cards in it)

Update: I put off sending this while I attempted to reproduce the
problem. After a reboot, it was fine for several days (again, under no
load). It is again showing odd symptons, but not yet giving me that
message. The primary sympton is that when I ssh in, the echoed characters
are always one character behind what has been typed. Results from
commands don't appear until another character has been typed, and shutdown
just doesn't work. Again, after a reboot (power switch), it is fine.

                                        Thanks,
                                        Keith

P.S. Please CC me on the response as I am not on the list.
