has nothing to do with devfs, it's a broken kernel. you need to upgrade your
kernel. try on 2.3.99-pre6-3 for size. tulip(in core) is fixed in 2.3.51+

do NOT use tulip module, it's broken, it'll cause an unforgiving OOPS on
multiple loads.
