Gcc 2.95.1 optimizes too much for the kernel. Do you compile your
kernel with 2.95.1 ? That could be the problem... Linus recommends gcc
2.7.2 or egcs 1.1.2, but gcc 2.95 is not supported for kernel
compilations.

2.95.2 is known to work.
2.95.1 with -fno-aliasing (AFAIR) is known to work.
